Mike Day

'Mike has been a Swansea Councillor since 1999. He took over as Cabinet Member for Education in 2004.

Born in Pontypool in 1953, he studied at Hereford Cathedral and Gowerton Schools, before graduating in Economics from Cardiff. He has worked in Personnel Management for South Glamorgan Council, Swansea Metropolitan University, (where his roles included Dean of Swansea Business School), and now manages business incubation facilities at Swansea University,

Married with 2 grown-up children, he is Governor of a local school, a local Church leader and Patron of St Madoc Youth Camp. His interests include cycling and walking on the beautiful Gower peninsula.
