Yet another One Wales government target missed

12.00.00am GMT Thu 11th Mar 2010

Commenting on the release of government health statistics that show the Labour-Plaid government has missed its One Wales promise of reducing waiting times to 26 weeks from referral to treatment, Peter Black, Welsh Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Minister said:

"This is yet another Labour-Plaid government target missed. 26 weeks is a very long time for anyone to have to wait for treatment and anything over 26 weeks is simply unacceptable.

"Our waiting times are far higher than in England and it is not right for Welsh patients to wait so long."
