Commenting on the written statement by Edwina Hart AM, the Minister for Health on ambulance services in Wales, the Welsh Liberal Democrat Shadow Minister for Health, Peter Black said:
"While I am pleased to see that ambulance response times have improved since December, this will have more to do with the easing of winter pressures on the NHS and ambulance services rather than ministerial decisions or service improvements."
"The Welsh Ambulance Trust must use this year to ensure that they are fully prepared for next winter and the Minister must engage with them to make sure they have adequate resources to meet the challenges that winter brings every year. The response times for ambulances are still far from satisfactory and we must expect greater and quicker improvements."
