Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member, Peter Black, has been taking part in the 'Careers Wales' work experience programme by taking on a student from Bishop Vaughan School as an intern in his National Assembly office in Cardiff.
Fifteen year old Adam Davis from Loughor in Swansea has been taken on as an intern for a week by Mr. Black in order for him to complete a work placement progress file for Careers Wales. Adam will be working in Peter's Cardiff office for a week, assisting him by carrying out the day to day duties of an assembly member's support staff.
"I am interested in Welsh politics and how the Welsh Assembly works and Peter Black was more than happy to give me a work placement in his office in the Welsh Assembly," said Adam. "I was able to experience many aspects of work in the Welsh Assembly from filing and casework in Peter Black's office to looking round the Senedd and watching First Ministers Questions. I am really enjoying my weeks work placement."
Peter Black said "I am grateful for the opportunity to take part in the Careers Wales work placement programme and look forward to taking part again in it in the future. It is vital that more schemes are developed to increase work based training and for young people to experience different working environments before making their minds up at sixteen as to what they want to do with the rest of their lives."
