The Western Mail newspapers' Chief reporter, Martin Shipton has today attacked the Ogmore Labour candidates' performance in the last Assembly in an end of term report.
In scoring the AM the newspaper tried to take a broad view of her performance based not simply on what she has said and how she said it, but also on her effectiveness in representing her constituents and the way she communicated with the media and others.
Out of a possible 10 points, the Labour candidate for Ogmore scored a very poor 4 points, which resulted in the Western Mail stating that she 'will need to do more to justify being there'.
The paper further concluded the she was a 'well below par performer by our reckoning'.
Commenting on the Western Mails' poor rating for the Labour candidates' performance in the last Assembly the local Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate for Ogmore, Martin Plant said "The Western Mails comments are pretty daming. However, it has only pointed out the obvious, that under Labour the people of Ogmore have had a bum deal in every respect.
"A constituency AM needs to perform at a very high standard in every aspect that the role requires. If she is not up to the job then she needs to go.
'This election gives the people of Ogmore the chance to make up their own mind on her performance. If they think she has done a bad job then they can sack her and replace her with someone who really can stand up for all the constituents".
