Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate for Gower, Nick Tregoning has branded the Tory manifesto 'the last Blairite manifesto' in Britain.
Local candidate and Dunvant councillor Nick Tregoning said: "Ten years after Blair came to power; the Tories have jumped aboard the Blairite bandwagon just as it is grinding to a halt. The Tory policies on foundation hospitals and selection in schools are picking up a right wing Blairite agenda that the people of Wales reject. Given that Labour are increasingly distancing themselves from their outgoing leader, the Tories have produced the last Blairite manifesto in the UK.
"Welsh Liberal Democrats reject Tony Blair's agenda. We believe there's a better way for Wales, and will be campaigning vigorously for our vision of a fair green future."
Peter Black said: "If you'll pardon the mixed metaphor, the Conservative Manifesto features lovely pictures of trees, but we know the roots of the party haven't changed - especially their grass roots.
"It's a shame that the Conservatives have bottled it when it comes to some of the really radical areas of reform, like scrapping the Barnett Formula, and fairer votes for local government. Clearly they have been overruled by London on pushing devolution further, for example, by devolving the police. Some of their policies, like foundation hospitals and selection in schools, are part of a New Labour agenda that the people of Wales never embraced.
"We welcome them supporting our already published policies for a mental health measure, carers' rights and to devolve more power to communities."
