Commenting on the Conservative Party's manifesto published today Welsh Liberal Democrat AM for South Wales West Peter Black said:
"If you'll pardon the mixed metaphor, the Conservative Manifesto features lovely pictures of trees, but we know the roots of the party haven't changed - especially their grass roots.
"Indeed some of their policies, like foundation hospitals and selection in schools, are picking up a right wing Blairite agenda that the people of Wales reject.
"It's a shame that they've bottled when it comes to some of the really radical areas of reform, like scrapping the Barnett Formula, and fairer votes for local government.
"Clearly they have been overruled by London on pushing devolution further, for example, by devolving the police.
"We welcome them supporting our already published policies for a mental health measure, carers rights and to devolve more power to communities."
